Making Woodturning Big Scraper Tool with HSS(high speed steel)
Переглядів 118 тис.Рік тому
Hello, this is a video of making a big scrapper for wood lathe using a flat high speed steel bar. The edge of the scrapper's blade is a gentle curve that makes it useful for organizing the inner side of a dish or bowl. The abrasive angle of the scrapper was polished between 60 and 65 degrees. The blade used is HSS (high speed steel, SKH-51 / HRC 60-62) 35x8x200. If you find these videos enterta...
Woodturning Hollowing Hook Tools and Extension Handle Making
Переглядів 191 тис.Рік тому
Hello, I made a tool that will be useful for wood lathe. I made a hook tool for digging out the inside of the tree. High-speed steel (HSS) was welded to a carbon steel rod. If only carbon steel is used, the blade wear is severe, so HSS is used. The handle has been made to extend the length so that it can be used reliably. And I made it so that I can replace and use the various hook tools that I...

The Jigsaw lifting rod was purchased as a spare while exchanging parts previously. Mini hand saw was made using lifting rod parts. Upgrading MDF Buffing Wheel on Bench Grinder
Переглядів 79 тис.3 роки тому
MDF buffing wheel is added to CBN bench grinder manufactured with 175rpm deceleration motor. When polishing the woodturning tool, it is convenient to remove the burr that came over the edge of the blade at once. The mdf wheel at the edge away from the motor shaft is not balanced, but it is a slow rotational speed of 3 turns per second, so there was no problem in using it. Thank you for watching...

I have made a couple of parting tools like this but from different blades & quite surprised at the difference between them. One has a tip quite parallel to the blade whereas the other is more angled up & this one is a lot more aggressive & difficult to use so I prefer the flat one.

You can make the same thing with a closed end wrench. I've made 3 of the closed style. But now that I've seen that flat style I'm going to have to try and cut a box end wrench and bend it open.

The roller skate wheel jig is brilliant. Do you by any chance have a video showing how you made it. I can see it’s a piece of plywood cut at 45 I’m just wondering how you mounted the wheels. Cheers.

I like the knob. It makes it easier to operate. I would not glue the bolt though. Then I can swap with another plate with different corner radius.

Just the fact that one doesn’t need to temper the steel to replicate this is a major plus! Great video. As a beginner I had never seen the wire slot burning trick but it’s so cool and ingenious. Thanks!!
